RGI: Beyond The Blotter - Volume 3, Issue 2

The infamous "dominatrix" issue. This particular newsletter was the first Beyond The Blotter to contain an interview with an outside individual - Johnathan Minton, the graphic artist behind the covers for the RGI series. The interview and pictorial spread encompassed Minton, and his company, Woodblock Graphic Design. In particular, it focused on the work he had done on the Love Is The Bond cover, (the first in the Miranda Trilogy), including the photo session with cover model Wendi O'Brien. Pictures included not only unused pictures from the session, preliminary sketches, and discarded mock-ups of covers, but also Minton and O'Brien joking around behind the scenes, with her affecting a high-heeled victory pose over him with added word balloons for a cartoon effect.
